Inspiring Story

Empowering communities is the foundation of true sustainability. In Dhordia village, Chittorgarh, PECSS has successfully nurtured Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from their initial formation stage to becoming confident, self-reliant enterprises. Through structured capacity building, skill development, and continuous mentoring, 40 women established income-generating activities including a papad-making unit and sewing units. Today, every woman in the group is earning between ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 per month, contributing steadily to household income and gaining financial independence.

Beyond economic empowerment, these women have emerged as community leaders. They actively volunteer in initiatives related to mother and child care, education support, and menstrual hygiene awareness – strengthening the social fabric of their village. This transformation reflects more than livelihood generation; it showcases sustainable community development where women not only earn but also lead change. When women thrive, families prosper, and villages grow stronger. This is what real sustainability looks like – collective growth, shared responsibility, and empowered communities standing on their own.
