Community Sustainability & Exit Strategy

Community Ownership for Lasting Impact

Community Ownership for Lasting Impact

At Priyanshi Educational, Cultural and Social Society (PECSS), sustainability isn’t an afterthought—it’s built into every intervention from day one. The focus is clear: strengthen local leadership so communities confidently drive their own development journey long after direct program support tapers off.

Grassroots Institutions Established

To institutionalize community ownership, PECSS has facilitated the formation of:

    • 5 Skill Development Committees

    • 42 Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)

    • 16 Village Development Committees (VDCs)

    • 48 Mother Groups

    • 42 Adolescent Groups

    • 26 Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs)

How Sustainability is Strengthened

These grassroots platforms ensure:

    • Local leadership and decision-making

    • Community-led monitoring and accountability

    • Convergence with government systems and schemes

    • Continuity of services beyond project cycles

    • Stronger collective voice and advocacy

Skill committees sustain livelihood initiatives.
Mother and adolescent groups continue health and nutrition awareness.
SHGs promote savings, entrepreneurship, and financial resilience.
Village Development Committees anchor broader community planning.

The Exit Philosophy

PECSS’s exit strategy is not withdrawal—it’s transition.

By gradually shifting responsibilities, building capacities, and strengthening institutional linkages, the organization ensures communities:

    • Manage their own development plans

    • Access government entitlements independently

    • Sustain behavioral and social change

The ultimate goal is simple but powerful: communities that don’t depend on external support—because they’ve built the systems, confidence, and leadership to move forward on their own.
