Piyush’s Journey under Ankuram
From Malnutrition to Healthy Growth
Transformational Story

Piyush (3 years) from Shirdi village in Chittorgarh was identified as moderately malnourished during the baseline survey under the Ankuram Program. He belongs to a three-member family where his father works as a daily wage laborer and his mother is a homemaker, with the household dependent entirely on daily earnings.
Through regular counselling, nutrition training sessions, and continuous follow-ups by the PECSS team, Piyush’s mother actively participated in every session. She learned to prepare nutritious meals, ensured balanced diets for her family, and adopted better hygiene practices at home.
With sustained guidance and consistent efforts, Piyush’s weight increased from 10 kg to 14.5 kg, and he successfully moved from the moderate malnutrition category to the normal category. His journey demonstrates how awareness, mother-led nutrition practices, and continuous community support can transform child health and build a healthier future.
