Devli’s Inspiring Journey

A Second Chance at Education

Inspiring Story

devli regar

Devli Regar, a 32-year-old widow from Achhoda village in Chittorgarh district, is redefining the meaning of resilience through education. After the untimely demise of her husband, Devli became the sole earning member of her family. She supports her three children – two sons and one daughter – through daily wage labor. Her elder son is mentally challenged and requires constant care, adding to her responsibilities. The family lives in a kutcha house and faces significant financial hardship.

Devli had discontinued her education 12 years ago due to marriage and family responsibilities. However, under the Shiksha Saarthi Program, the PECSS team provided continuous counseling, emotional support, and guidance, encouraging her to reconsider her educational journey. Her younger son was enrolled in the program, and the family received nutrition kits, seeds, and essential support through CSR assistance to strengthen their overall well-being.

Motivated by the PECSS team’s efforts, Devli enrolled in Class 10 through distance education. Stationery and learning materials were provided to help her continue her studies. Today, Devli studies alongside managing her household and work responsibilities, determined to build a brighter future. She hopes that completing her education will open doors to small employment opportunities, such as working with the Anganwadi. Devli’s journey proves that there is no age limit for education. Her courage and determination have made her a role model in her community—an inspiring example of how education can transform lives at any stage.
